This job is in Tauranga with a disability support service. You join a 24/7 team that supports one client with tetraplegia. The client is highly motivated, stays active and engaged, and has full-time commitments. The work is more than caregiving. You help with personal cares, daily activities and companionship, and you drive and go with the client so that work and family commitments are met. Some travel is included.
The role is full-time and on contract. Day shifts are 7 am to 5 pm. Night shifts are 5 pm to 7 am with a sleepover. Plan on around 35 hours a week or more, over about 2 to 4 shifts, plus 2 weekend shifts a month. The client and the team give the training. The employer is accredited and has job tokens, so AEWV sponsorship for a work visa is available.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Eligibility
- Working towards NZQA health and wellbeing Level 3 or higher
- Good understanding of 24/7 roster coordination
- Training experience in relation to a care plan and job description, learned hands-on
- Professional, honest, trustworthy and reliable, with good communication and the ability to adapt to changing needs
- Initiative, common sense and a positive attitude
- A driver licence and a high level of English
- Strong availability: afternoons, evenings, sleepovers and 2 weekend shifts a month
