A community living trust near Dunedin offers residential support to people with learning disabilities, and it is recruiting compassionate, reliable Support Workers for its Permanent Relief Team. The hours are full-time at 40 a week, and the work follows the trust's values of person-centred care, inclusion and community connection.
People are helped to live fulfilling, independent lives in a safe, warm, home-like environment, so shifts are highly varied: days, afternoons, evenings, awake nights, split shifts and weekends. The trust holds Accredited Employer status and is prepared to support AEWV sponsorship applications for appropriately experienced and qualified candidates (the job is approved at skill level 4). Candidates need the right to work in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities
- Support everyday living, from shopping and meals to household tasks, and join community activities and outings
- Give respectful, safe personal care and encourage independence, choice and wellbeing
- Keep accurate records and follow each support plan
Requirements & Eligibility
- Respect for people with learning disabilities and a person-centred approach to supporting them
- Common sense and the ability to work independently
- Communication and interpersonal skills that are strong, plus good computer skills
- Experience working as a Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant in NZ, or holding a Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher)
- Willingness to work weekends and various shifts
- New Zealand driver's licence, full (essential)
- The right to work in New Zealand
