Privacy Policy

If you use JobsAbroad Tanzania (jobsabroad.co.tz), some information about you will reach us or be recorded. Below you will find what that information is, why we handle it, which companies touch it and how you can take charge of it, set out as plainly as we can manage.

1. Key points

  1. There is nothing to sign up for. Visitors have no accounts, and every job and guide can be opened by anyone.
  2. Advertising has no place here. Traffic is counted with Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, however, and both leave cookies behind.
  3. A CV, phone number or message reaches us only if you decide to send it, through email or WhatsApp.
  4. You are free to ask at any moment what we hold, to have mistakes fixed or to have your details erased.

2. The company behind the site

JobsAbroad Tanzania is owned and run by Red Migration FZC, which is registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Legally it is the controller of personal data gathered here: it determines how that data is used and bears responsibility for it.

To contact the company, email jobs@jobsabroad.co.tz, phone or WhatsApp +971 50 283 2394, or send post to 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

3. Details you send us

When you apply by email

The Apply by email button on a vacancy leads to our contact page. When you pick the address shown there, your own mail app opens a blank message to jobs@jobsabroad.co.tz. Our website never sends anything for you, and we know nothing about your application until the message arrives.

What the message contains is entirely up to you. People applying from Tanzania commonly attach or write out some of the following:

  • full name, mobile number and email address;
  • a CV covering past jobs, with the names of referees;
  • school and trade certificates, for example NECTA and VETA awards, degrees or other qualifications;
  • a photo or scan of a passport or visa, but only if you choose to include one.

When you message us on WhatsApp

Pressing Ask on WhatsApp opens a one-to-one chat with our team. From the first message we can see your phone number and WhatsApp profile name, and we see everything you put in the conversation, including text, documents, photos and voice notes.

The WhatsApp job channel

Our WhatsApp channel is a one-way feed of new vacancies. Subscribing creates no conversation with us. The channel is provided by WhatsApp and its parent Meta under their own privacy terms.

Telephone calls and post

If you ring or write, we learn only what you choose to say. The contact page lists every way to reach us, and it has no form, deliberately.

4. Technical data we log

Simply loading a page leaves a technical record. Google Cloud writes one log line per request, noting the IP address, the type of browser and device, the page requested and the time. Those lines are erased after 30 days.

In addition, our server counts how often each IP address calls it. The count lives only in memory, and it stops any single source from flooding the site. We rely on these two records to track down faults and block abuse, and never to work out who you are.

5. Visitor statistics

To learn which pages help visitors and where they give up, JobsAbroad Tanzania uses two measurement services: Google Analytics 4 from Google LLC, and Microsoft Clarity from Microsoft Corporation.

Gathered: the pages you open, how far down you scroll, the links and buttons you press, plus your device type, browser and country. Both services depend on cookies and similar technology. Clarity goes further, producing heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling and pointer movement, while hiding anything typed into form fields. Microsoft may use this data for advertising as well, according to its Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Kept out: your name, email address and everything you type into a form. Only the search box is different, because a job or trade searched for there reaches Google Analytics as a search term. The advertising features of Google Analytics are turned off by us.

Further information: Google's privacy policy, the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Every cookie is itemised in the Cookie Policy.

6. What we leave out

Searching and filtering jobs happens in your browser and the address bar, so none of it is written to our database. Our own code puts just one item on your device, a timestamp that allows a page to refresh smoothly after an update. Typefaces are provided by Google Fonts, and a YouTube video is fetched from youtube-nocookie.com only if you tap it. The Cookie Policy covers all this in detail.

No visitor ever logs in. One hidden admin page, where staff publish jobs and articles, has a login built on Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and it turns away every email address not on the staff list.

7. How we use what you send

  • We check your experience and papers against the vacancy you chose.
  • We pass your application to the employer who advertised that vacancy.
  • We answer you on whichever channel you used.
  • We arrange what comes next, such as an interview or extra documents.
  • We keep the site safe and working, relying on logs and request limits.
  • We meet obligations the law places on us.

Nothing you send is used for advertising or profiling, and none of it goes to the analytics services.

8. Our grounds for using it

Data protection law asks us to state on what grounds we handle your information. These are ours:

  • Consent, which you give by contacting us and may take back whenever you wish.
  • Pre-contract steps, because dealing with your application moves you towards the job you enquired about.
  • Legitimate interests, meaning the safety and smooth running of the site.
  • Legal duty, in cases where the law requires us to keep or hand over information.

9. Who handles it

Access is restricted to parties that have a genuine need:

  • our own team, who read your messages and respond;
  • the employer whose vacancy you applied to, normally in Australia or New Zealand, and another employer only if you give your agreement;
  • Google Cloud, host of our web server (Cloud Run), our database (Cloud Firestore), the logs and the staff login, where the database stores published jobs, guides and videos but no files from visitors;
  • our email provider, which delivers and stores messages sent to jobs@jobsabroad.co.tz;
  • WhatsApp (Meta), which carries chats and the job channel;
  • courts, police or other authorities, solely when the law compels us.

10. Where it is held

Our web server and database run on Google Cloud in Belgium (European Union). Our company is based in the UAE, most employers are in Australia or New Zealand, and our email provider, Google and Meta may also process data elsewhere.

That means an application from Tanzania can pass through several legal systems, each with its own privacy rules. If a transfer abroad requires safeguards, we depend on the contractual and security protections that our providers apply, and every recipient is given only what it needs to do its part.

11. Retention

Emails and chats stay with us for as long as your application, any hiring that results from it or a legal duty requires, and no fixed time limit applies. Ask us to delete them and we will, unless a law obliges us to retain a record. Server logs disappear after 30 days, and the request tallies in memory last only minutes.

12. Safeguards

HTTPS protects every connection, and HSTS instructs browsers never to fall back to an unencrypted one. The internet cannot reach our database; only our own server can. Approved staff alone may enter the admin page, and request limits blunt bots and password guessing.

Nothing online is entirely safe, so keep copies of your passport to yourself until an employer or our team has a real need for them.

13. Your rights

Broadly, you can ask for a copy of your data, request correction or erasure, ask us to restrict its use, or object to some uses. Which of these rights you hold depends on your country of residence and on the law that governs the data.

In the UAE. Since Red Migration FZC is established there, the UAE's federal personal data protection law applies where relevant, giving rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and a portable copy.

In Tanzania. We honour the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act 2022 where it applies. If you are in Tanzania and dissatisfied with the way we have handled your data, tell us first, and you may also be able to take the matter to the data protection authority in Tanzania.

Elsewhere. Australia, New Zealand and other countries have privacy laws offering comparable rights. Say which one you rely on and we will follow it.

14. Exercising your rights

Email jobs@jobsabroad.co.tz and describe what you would like us to do. Before acting we may need proof of your identity, to make sure your data is not given to anyone else. A reply will reach you within the period the law allows, and if we cannot fulfil part of your request, for example where a record must be retained, we will explain why.

15. Age limit

JobsAbroad Tanzania is designed for job seekers aged 18 and above. If you learn that someone younger has sent us details about themselves, let us know and we will delete them.

16. External links

Pages on this site link to WhatsApp, YouTube, social networks and official government websites. The footer additionally lists Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au), Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and English test practice (practisenow.com). Once you leave for any of them, their own policies take over, so read those before handing over personal details.

17. Amendments

This page may need revising as the site, our providers or the law change. When that happens the date at the top is updated, and the text shown here is always the version in force.
