A country hotel in regional Gippsland, Victoria, needs a Chef/Cook for its kitchen team. The job is full-time. The kitchen is busy, the food is creative and of high quality, and the chef works with the Head Chef on new menu items. The hotel describes a friendly, supportive and inclusive workplace. Key Responsibilities
- Make good food that is creative and of high quality
- Work at pace in a busy kitchen
- Help the Head Chef with new menu items and better versions of current dishes
- Do prep and cooking efficiently and to a high standard
- Keep the kitchen clean, in order and hygienic
- Treat guests well and act quickly on what they ask for
- Help check stock and order kitchen supplies
- Obey food safety and workplace health and safety rules
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years working as a Chef/Cook in a hospitality setting like this one, with a formal culinary qualification such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Excellent food preparation, cooking technique and food safety knowledge
- Strong time management and multitasking in a busy kitchen, and good teamwork that supports a positive work culture
- Passion for creating high-quality meals, and for improving how guests experience dining
