Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for trusts, companies, individuals and partnerships, and Business Activity Statements
- Do accounting and tax work for SME clients
- Prepare individual income tax returns, assisting with year-end tax planning
- Liaise with clients and with the ATO as needed, and manage your workflow around statutory deadlines
- Help the Senior Accountant manage client portfolios with Xero and other cloud systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice accounting experience, with preparing tax returns and financial statements for trusts, companies, individuals and partnerships
- A solid working familiarity with Australian taxation and compliance with BAS preparation, and strong Xero capabilities
- Solid written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and the capability to manage competing deadlines
- An accounting, commerce or equivalent tertiary qualification; CPA or CA studies (or plans to start them) are highly regarded
