Powerline vegetation is the business of this Utility Arborist job at a national vegetation management company in New Plymouth. The arborist works throughout Taranaki, looks at vegetation conditions, plans and coordinates the work, and cooperates with line crews, property owners and clients to keep the electrical system dependable, with safety as the priority.
The working week is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with overtime possible if wanted, plus training and room to advance. The company is an accredited employer, which links to AEWV sponsorship. The work is outdoors and hands-on, with a clear weekly routine.

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vegetation around powerlines and plan the work

Requirements & Eligibility
- NZQA Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in arboriculture, with at least a Class 1 licence
- At least 1 year of working experience
- Familiarity with arboriculture, tree identification and pruning, plus chainsaw, pole saw, wood chipper and other hand tool experience
- Fit for outdoor work in any weather and terrain
- Able to pass drug and alcohol testing and a medical
