Dar es Salaam to Darwin is a long way, but a mechanic with the right skills can cover it. A workshop in a remote Northern Territory community is hiring a full-time Motor Mechanic who can service, repair and diagnose a wide range of vehicles and keep to high standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Everyday servicing, upkeep and repair of petrol and diesel vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment
- Repair engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, suspension and steering
- Tyre fitting, puncture repair, rotation and balancing
- Look after air-conditioning where you are properly licensed, and 4WDs, utes, light commercial vehicles and other vehicles as needed
- Vehicle inspections, road tests and a final quality check
- Help with identifying and ordering parts, keep accurate job records, and keep tools, equipment, cleanliness and safety up to standard
Requirements & Eligibility
- A trade qualification relevant to automotive work, or an equivalent recognised one
- Demonstrated experience in servicing, repairing and diagnosing vehicles
- Good knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, particularly 4WDs and light commercial vehicles
- Able to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience with automotive diagnostic equipment and electrical fault finding
- A current driver's licence or equivalent overseas licence, subject to Australian licensing requirements
- Willingness to live and work in a remote Northern Territory community; tyre fitting, diesel repairs, automotive air conditioning or remote workshop experience is an advantage
