Perth's fencing industry is where this opportunity sits. An established manufacturer wants an experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder for its manufacturing team, covering steel components from cutting and shaping to final assembly, frames and gates, and MIG welding, with room to learn the rest of the factory.
This long-term role targets skilled tradespeople who are already residing in Australia and entitled to work there, including Working Holiday visa holders (417/462) who meet the stated skills and experience needs. The employer may sponsor suitable people under the subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa, depending on the occupation, skills assessment and immigration requirements, and a formal skills assessment may be requested.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut and shape steel components, prepare them and put them together
- Make metal frames, gates and other steel products
- Weld with MIG and other relevant processes
- Read technical drawings and fabrication specifications
- Run fabrication machinery, equipment and hand tools and inspect finished welds and products for quality and accuracy
- Learn other areas of the manufacturing operation and help other teams when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III/IV in metal fabrication or welding, or a comparable overseas trade qualification, plus skilled work in the field for at least 12 months in the past five years; or else skilled metal fabrication and/or professional welding experience of at least three years with no formal qualifications
- Payslips and employer references showing when and in which skilled duties you worked
- Practical competence in welding and fabrication
- Residence in Australia now with valid working rights, plus willingness to undertake a formal skills assessment if required
