A permanent Registered Nurse post has opened at a 52-bed residential aged care facility that serves its local community, in a small Queensland country town. Less than two hours separate the town from Hervey Bay, and a healthcare recruiter is handling the vacancy. It is a good match for nurses planning a career in regional Queensland, and starting straight away is possible.
Candidates who are eligible and already residing in Australia may be offered sponsorship support, potentially through Subclass 407 or 485-related pathways, depending on individual eligibility and immigration requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide residents with nursing care that is high in quality and fitted to their individual needs
- Give out medications while monitoring residents' health and wellbeing
- Write individualised care plans, put them into practice and review them regularly
- Supervise care staff and give them the support to keep standards of care high
- Keep clinical records accurate
- Talk effectively with residents, families and other healthcare professionals
- Work to the Aged Care Quality Standards and clinical policies, take part in quality improvement initiatives and clinical reviews, spot and respond promptly to changes in residents' conditions and to medical emergencies, and keep professional knowledge current through continuing professional development
Requirements & Eligibility
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (current)
- At least six months working as an RN in an aged care setting
- Strong written and spoken communication
- Knowledge of AN-ACC funding and the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Intermediate computer skills and confidence using clinical documentation systems
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance and a current National Criminal History Check
- Valid Queensland driver's licence
