A Caregiver is wanted at a dementia care home in Christchurch for a permanent, full-time post of at least 30 hours per week. The provider is known for innovation in aged and dementia care, and the rate scale is $23.95 at Level 1, $24.06 at Level 2, $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 and above.
Immigration New Zealand has the employer on its list of Accredited Employers. Applicants who want visa sponsorship support must also hold a Registered Nursing degree, or a qualification at Level 3 or above that relates directly to caregiving, together with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA).

Key Responsibilities
- Provide culturally safe, effective, holistic personal care: eating, dressing, showering, mobility and communication
- Help plan care and follow therapy plans for residents with dementia, observing their progress and reporting changes or concerns promptly
- Keep accurate, appropriate, up-to-date resident records, and support registered nurses within their scope
Requirements & Eligibility
- Commitment to a positive difference in the lives of elderly people
- Able to work any shift on a 24/7 roster
- A passion for working in aged care
- Previous caregiving experience preferred
- Experience in dementia care would be a strong advantage
- For visa support, a Registered Nursing degree
- Alternatively, for visa support, a caregiving qualification at Level 3 or above plus an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
