Automotive Mechanic / WoF Inspector

Two mechanic positions are open at a fast-growing independent workshop in Auckland. Both are permanent and full-time, Monday to Saturday. Position 1 is for a WoF Inspector who is also an experienced mechanic: alongside general workshop duties, this person performs WoF inspections in accordance with NZTA requirements, and a current WoF Inspector authority is required. Position 2 is for an experienced automotive mechanic whose work centres on general servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs and WoF-related repairs.

Key Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintenance and fault finding with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
- Repairs to brakes, suspension, steering, engines, cooling and electrical systems, plus general mechanical work.
- Wheel alignment and related suspension checks.
- Tyre inspection, fitting and rotation.
- Pre-WoF inspections, and the repairs related to a WoF.
- Job cards and repair documentation completed accurately.
- High workmanship and safety standards in the workshop, with professional communication with customers.
- Position 1: WoF inspections in accordance with NZTA requirements.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Solid automotive mechanical experience and the ability to work independently.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and workmanship.
- Reliable, honest and professional, and a good communicator.
- Holds a full NZ driver's licence.
- NZ automotive qualification preferred.
- Position 1: current WoF Inspector authority is required.
